credit score
A number that is calculated by weighing different factors of your credit history to determine creditworthiness. The most common method for computing a credit score is the FICO (Fair Isaac and Company) method, with scores ranging from 300 to 900. This is based roughly on the following formula: 35% payment history, 30% outstanding debt, 15% length of time for credit history, 10% number of inquiries, 10% types of credit listed.
