According to the US Department of Labor, the Producer Price Index rose by a greater-than-expected 0.5 percent in June.

The Producer Price Index (PPI) program measures the average change over time in the selling prices received by domestic producers for their output. The prices included in the PPI are from the first commercial transaction for many products and some services.
The Producer Price Index for Finished Goods increased 0.5 percent in
June, seasonally adjusted, the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S.
Department of Labor reported today. This rise followed advances of 0.2
percent in May and 0.9 percent in April. At the earlier stages of
processing, prices received by producers of intermediate goods climbed 0.7
